as we all know, supercade show all roms from one single folder, even if we dont play all of those games so, we always receive challenges from games we dont play with...what could be the solution ? it's simple , all we have to do is create another folder and put "ONLY" the games we actually play with
and know we have a real list of players who really play that game (remeber, we have a list of 52 kof 2002 players but only 30 play it for real, other 22 player just have the rom in that folder)
that's all
see u guys
pd: i know...my english is not good enough

Didn't understood so well...
What you meant is all we have to do is to create a new folder INSIDE ROMs folder?
Well... if you check Supercade's installation path, you'll see that inside "config" folder there's a file named "SupercadeEmulator" (which is a .INI file type).
You can open it with a text editor, go to the bottom and search for "// --- Load Game Dialog" without quotes.
Below, you'll see 8 lines, from [0] to [7], where [7] is in use, being the default ROMs folder (which is inside Supercade's installation folder).
You can use any other from [0] to [6] to add any path where you want to put your customized ROMs path.
So, in fact, Supercade offers 8 paths, instead of just 1 as you mentioned.

YO entiendo perfectamente. ES una gran sugerencia. Por fin alguien piensa como yo. Estoy totalmente de acuerdo. =]
PERSONAS CIRAR 1 CARPETA sólo por eso JUEGOS realmente jugando. DESPUÉS DE CREAR CARPETA Y PONER LAS OTRAS ROOMS SÓLO MIRA REPLAYS =]
COMON BRO UR ENGLISH IS VERY NICE ! =]

your english is good...this is not a bad idea....a lot of people i've challenged in SF2 just ignore me...probably because they don't play the game at all.
|
two people had undertood the idea, i was trying to say kaamos, we have to create another roms folder besides our main roms folder for example i have 500 roms in my MAME folder ....i dont play at all so i've create another rom folder with just 7 roms ( the games i actually play) and i use that folder in supercade so, if you guys challenge in any of those 7 games you can be sure i play all of them, that's the idea

Well... then would be better to suggest Damdai to re-add an improved version of the old "Subscribe" feature.
This time, working in a simpler way...
...as a switch!!
Where any game from the list could be turned ON/OFF at any time, depending of our likes.
I dislike the idea to copy/paste ROMsets I already have located on a folder (as I have to do for SupARC).
So, I think the "Switch" feature could be a good solution.
|
yea, supercade used to have that "subscribe" option , i guess if damdai really want to bring it back he would already done at this time , that's the reason i got this idea

I dont mind playing all games, from Stakes Winner and Turf Masters to Third Strike, instead of waiting 5 hours for a person to challenge me.
It is just that say, to play Sengoku 3, one hour is required for it to finish, so there is a chance I may decline if I dont have that much free time.
whereas in fighters or puzzle games you can play a few sessions lasting few minutes so it is easier.
sure I may not be the top player at all games (who is btw), but most important is to have fun. besides, even if I dont get the game, a few tips help to get the grip and play.
|
When this new feature was added, it was the first thing I did. But sometimes I declined challenges because is people only are "subscribed" in one game and they wont play other game.
Another temporal option is create simbolic links (like used in Linux) with command junction, with this, you are only pointing to the file, without waste disk space (similar to file shorcut, but more powerful)
Ex:
junction C:\SupercadeRoms\KOF2002.ZIP "C:\AllRoms\KOF2002.ZIP"
Deleting:
junction -d C:\SupercadeRoms\KOF2002.ZIP
